I don't know what this presentation might be but if it explains what is going on in our country and planet, why not?
I have a awful memory, a brain that "fogs" up due to illness and meds that I'm on but sometimes what I was trying to remember from a story I read 3 years ago pops back, sometimes I don't feel so ditzy or worthless after all.
Now reading it and understanding it all is a different story. ;)

Think Progress » Debunking Bush’s Whoppers On Pork
Poor George, his rubber stamp Congress has gone. But he lied then and he still lies now about everything. We should examine all pork funding for the last 6 years, but better yet..let's look into the last 30 years or so. The American public would like to know.

Public servants should be viewed openly by the public, there should be no secrets. They tend to forget who their employers are...the People. The People need to demand of the public servants elected to Congress that they and the President and his staff are not there to wheel and deal for corporate selves, friends, graft, perks, kids, whatever. Our country has gone down the tubes from these "public servants" just about killing each other to get "in office". Stop the corruption, entitlement, and the cover-ups.
Debunking Bush’s Whoppers On Porkmore..
President Bush has tried to justify his planned veto of Congress’ Iraq withdrawal legislation by complaining about the non-Iraq related funds included in the bill.
American Progress senior fellow Scott Lilly, who served for years as Clerk and Staff Director of the House Appropriations Committee, debunks Bush’s rhetoric:
CLAIM: Bush opposes spending in the emergency supplemental that is “unrelated to the war.”
FACT: Bush’s own supplemental request to Congress contained millions in non-war related funds.
Contained in Bush’s request were funds for federal prisons, Kosovo debt relief, flood control on the Mississippi, nutrition programs in Africa, educational and cultural exchange activities around the world, disease control in South Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe, and salaries for U.S. marshals.
The request spread additional funding across seven major departments of the federal government. Such items were not only contained in the White House request for this year’s supplemental but have been part of nearly every supplemental the president has signed since the beginning of the Iraq war. One quarter of the money in last year’s $94 billion “Iraq” supplemental was directed at a variety of domestic programs.
Poor George, his rubber stamp Congress has gone. But he lied then and he still lies now about everything. We should examine all pork funding for the last 6 years, but better yet..let's look into the last 30 years or so. The American public would like to know.
NASA: Mars Probe Doomed By Human Error, Report Finds Error Triggered Battery To Fail On Mars Global Surveyor Last Year - CBS News
(AP) Human error triggered a cascade of events that caused the battery to fail on the Mars Global Surveyor last year, according to a preliminary report released Friday.
An internal NASA board determined that power loss likely doomed the spacecraft after a decade of meticulously mapping the Red Planet.
But the problems actually began in 2005, when a routine technical update to onboard computers caused inconsistencies in the spacecraft's memory. The board concluded that engineers didn't catch the mistakes because the existing procedures to do so were inadequate.
Scientists lost contact last November with the $154 million Global Surveyor. Launched in 1996, it was the oldest of six different active probes on the Martian surface or circling the planet.
Several attempts to locate the spacecraft were unsuccessful, and the mission was declared ended in January.
Global Surveyor was built with redundant control systems to guard against failure. However, the board found inconsistencies in the memories of the spacecraft's two onboard computers because the updates were done at different times.
Six months before Global Surveyor fell silent, engineers sent up incorrect software commands that disabled its solar panels. A final command in November telling the spacecraft to adjust its solar panels caused the battery to overheat and lose power.
The Global Surveyor beamed back some 240,000 pictures, including the first detailed views of swirling dust devils and gullies.

I don't listen to Imus but have followed this on the news along with his meeting with the Rev. Al Sharpton. I also seen the MSM and various morning shows all put their two cents in on the matter. IMHO, Imus should indeed be punished but firing him where he could just go on a satellite radio show of his own where he would be filled with resentment and say even worse to divide our nation?
Here is a chance for all parties involved along with the MEDIA THAT IS ONLY TOO HAPPY TO PUT THEIR SPIN ON IT to show how people speak to each other causes pain, resentment and suffering. The young kids take the word, "ho" for granted...the word is used everywhere anymore. You see it on talk shows even. Teens pick this speech pattern up, it doesn't matter what color you....they use the word in a playful manner but when it carries over into disagreements, some people don't get how damaging it can be.
Imus, Rev. Sharpton, and even the young women from Rutgers could help today's youth and adults see that we must stop speaking this way about women or men even in a playful manner. (I'm not sure if Imus was doing this playfully either.) Every person deserves respect, Imus should look at himself and ask what makes him say such things to dis-respect himself first.
I'm sure these Rutger's ladies would allow Imus and Sharpton to play some hoops with them, odds are they will find some new respect when they are done. Part of sports is building self-esteem, Imus. Get it?
PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) -- The Rutgers administration and women's basketball team blasted Don Imus' "despicable" remarks Tuesday, but stopped short of saying he should be fired and agreed to meet with the embattled radio host.
Starting Monday, Imus will be suspended for two weeks for calling the Rutgers players "nappy-headed hos."
Rutgers' athletic director, Robert E. Mulcahey III, thought a meeting with Imus offered the team's players a chance to listen to him and hear what he has to say. Several players said they wanted to ask the host why he would make such thoughtless statements.
"Unless they've given 'ho' a whole new definition, that's not what I am," said another player, Kia Vaughn.
Head coach C. Vivian Stringer said her players "are the best this nation has to offer, and we are so very fortunate to have them at Rutgers University. They are young ladies of class, distinction. They are articulate, they are gifted. They are God's representatives in every sense of the word."
She said it's not about the players "as black or nappy-headed. It's about us as a people. When there is not equality for all, or when there has been denied equality for one, there has been denied equality for all."
She further said: "While they worked hard in the classroom and accomplished so much and used their gifts and talents, you know, to bring the smiles and the pride within this state in so many people, we had to experience racist and sexist remarks that are deplorable, despicable, and abominable and unconscionable. It hurts me."

Due to its increasing practice of contracting out to private firms and agencies, the U.S. government is quickly losing its expertise and competence in vital national security and defense programs, according to a Wall Street Journal report.more
"Since the 2001 terrorist attacks and wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the federal government's demand for complex technology has soared," writes by Bernard Wysocki, Jr. for the Journal. "But Washington often doesn't have the expertise to take on new high-tech projects, or the staff to oversee them.
"As a result," he continues, "officials are increasingly turning to contractors, in particular the hundreds of companies in Tysons Corner and the surrounding Fairfax County that operate some of the government's most sensitive and important undertakings."
The number of private federal contractors has now risen to 7.5 million, which is four times greater than the federal workforce itself, the report indicates. Such a trend is leading the government to what Wysocki calls the "outsourcing [of] its brain."
The shift to private firms has not been without its

Rep. Waxman's staff, in a Feb. 8 memo, said that "at least one contractor hired to engage in contract oversight on the border project, Booz Allen Hamilton, may have a conflict of interest with Boeing Co.," the prime contractor. Booz Allen has done consulting work for Boeing and has been a member of the Boeing team on other contracts.
Ralph Shrader, chief executive at Booz Allen, flatly denies the charge. "I take the greatest exception to the idea of conflict of interest," Dr. Shrader says, adding that Booz Allen is doing "support" and "coordination" work on behalf of the government, and doesn't "oversee" Boeing. He adds that Booz Allen has for decades taken pains to avoid conflicts of interest, and has a rigorous process to avoid such conflicts. (Dow Jones & Co., publisher of The Wall Street Journal, has hired Booz Allen to help the company with its news strategy.)

Maniacal Neo-Con attack dogs cannot debate Rosie O'Donnell on a level playing field about the issues she raises on her show and therefore always have to resort to ad hominem name calling, demands that she be fired and as was broadcast last night, public calls for her to be hanged.
Actor and radio host Danny Bonaduce, appearing as a guest last night on MSNBC's Scarborough Country, hosted by former Republican Congressman Joe Scarborough, advocated the death penalty in response to Rosie O'Donnell's statements about the Iran hostage crisis and her questioning the official story behind 9/11.

Afghan war may be lost: experts
Two Afghanistan experts painted a sobering picture of the conditions there yesterday, arguing support among Afghans for NATO forces is plummeting, the U.S.-driven policy of poppy eradication is wrongheaded, and the war might not be winnable in its present form.
U.S. scholar Barnett Rubin and Gordon Smith, Canada's former ambassador to NATO, delivered their withering comments to a Commons committee only days after Canada's top military commander, Gen. Rick Hillier, touted progress being made there.
Hillier, the chief of defence staff, this week predicted Canadian troops in southern Afghanistan will soon see a rise in attacks from the Taliban. But he insisted on using the term "surge" rather than "offensive."

Gen'ls to Bush: Soldiers not props
Posted by Frank James at 1:15 pm CDT
A trio of retired generals concerned that President Bush might use his scheduled appearance this afternoon at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center to try and score political points against Democrats, urged the president, via a teleconference with reporters, to focus strictly on the problems with military medical care.
The generals were spurred into action by news reports that suggested the president might use the event to take on Democrats as both sides clash over the Iraq and Afghanistan spending bills just passed by the Senate and House which include timelines Bush fiercely opposes for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq.

AMY GOODMAN: But what do you say to those make the argument that if president Bush has on his desk a bill that gives money, gives a fortune in continuing the war, and he has to veto it because he doesn't like the timetable, that this puts him in a very difficult position?
REP. DENNIS KUCINICH: Our decisions have to be way above politics. We have the lives of our troops at stake here. There's no military victory in Iraq. We're there illegally. The occupation is fueling the insurgency. Democrats can still, after president Bush vetoes the bill, which he will, Democrats can still take the right position, which is refuse to fund the war, use money in the pipeline to bring the troops home.
The Raw Story | White House Power Point slides target 20 Democrats for 2008 defeat
House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) is seeking information about slides targeting 20 Democratic-controlled Congressional districts for the 2008 Election. In January, the White House sent J. Scott Jennings, an aide to Karl Rove, to present a slide show to a group of employees of the General Services Administration.
Waxman believes the presentation, and subsequent remarks made by GSA Director Lurita Alexis Doan may have violated the 'Hatch Act,' which prohibits federal employees from using their positions for political purposes. Doan is alleged to have suggested that she could use GSA contracts to help Republican Members of Congress hold their seats in the House.

Investigation fades while DeLay reemerges
When Alice Fisher was appointed by President Bush to serve as Chief of the Public Integrity section of the U.S. Justice Department, vigorous investigations were underway that would eventually end the careers of Congressmen Duke Cunningham and Bob Ney. Both are currently serving time in federal prisons. At the same time, the Jack Abramoff scandal was unraveling with new sordid revelations emerging daily. Eventually, Abramoff and two former DeLay staffers would plead guilty to felony charges and go to prison. Serious questions swirled around Tom DeLay himself and his official actions that appeared to benefit contributors and personal friends. However, since Fisher took over the Public Integrity section at DOJ, things have gone silent, particularly on the many questionable activities of Tom DeLay.
There is a whole lot to research for yourself on that one. Where is the media?
Mercury in energy-saving bulbs worries scientists | Reuters.co.uk
NEW YORK (Reuters) - There's an old joke about the number of people it takes to change a light bulb. But because the newer energy-efficient kinds contain tiny amounts of mercury, the hard part is getting rid of them when they burn out.
Mercury is poisonous, but it's also a necessary part of most compact fluorescent bulbs, the kind that environmentalists and some governments are pushing as a way to cut energy use.
With an estimated 150 million CFLs sold in the United States in 2006 and with Wal-Mart alone hoping to sell 100 million this year, some scientists and environmentalists are worried that most are ending up in garbage dumps.

Do you notice how many roll-over accidents there are now, even though they tell us less people are dying. It sure doesn't seem like it. What ever happened to "55 saves lives" anyway? The Pentagon resumed its controversial mandatory anthrax vaccinations program for selected troops last week despite the fact that its own doctors are quietly conducting research into adverse effects of the vaccine, a RAW STORY investigation has found.
A few days after receiving his third anthrax vaccination, Hernandez says, he developed a lesion on his leg that he was told was most likely a spider bite. He was put on a course of antibiotics and continued preparing for deployment.
"I had never had health problems," he said.
The lesion grew and other autoimmune problems developed. In May 2006, Hernandez was forced to return home to receive medical care.
"When I got back, I had 13 lesions," he said. "It was just too much for my immune system," he said of the vaccine. "They didn't know what the hell I had."
When he told the military he thought that his illness was related to the vaccine, he said, staff told him he was "delusional" and the relation between his mystery autoimmune illness and the shots "were in his head."
"For a while," he said, "I thought I was going crazy."

Rather strange Bush promoted prosecutor of Abrmahoff to judgeship. Flashback to Westar of Kansas + Tom Delay for some of his dirty dealings.
It really doesn't matter if crooks, pedophiles, fraudsters, murderers are Democrats, Republican, Independent or whatever...it matters that our country gets cleaned up in every area from the top down.
If you don't google or research, or you believe everything you hear from the media, don't think outside the box, you are being naive.

I'm not a computer whiz, so if you come across this blog don't expect much. You are welcome to blow off steam, speak your mind, out some truths in this country of ours where lies seem to taken over the place of facts and truth. Lies, cover-ups, spins, failure to report the good and the bad happenings....is soooo OLD.
Elizabeth Edwards, God Bless you, many people are praying for you and your family. You are the real deal in my humble opinion, so is your husband. Willing to stick up for the little guy, the average American. I wish you well so you can be back campaigning with Senator Edwards.
Ranting: It appears to me if you have to meet behind closed doors with no written record, no oath, everything secretive (as usual for the last 6 years) then something is wrong. What is being hidden again from the American people? I don't buy what Gonzales says about going after porn either, although what the hell has he been doing on that front? He would cover it up in a New York minute if it involved one of the elite deviants, politicians that might disturb his party, or be connected to his church or buddies. What do you think?
