Gen'ls to Bush: Soldiers not props
Posted by Frank James at 1:15 pm CDT
A trio of retired generals concerned that President Bush might use his scheduled appearance this afternoon at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center to try and score political points against Democrats, urged the president, via a teleconference with reporters, to focus strictly on the problems with military medical care.
The generals were spurred into action by news reports that suggested the president might use the event to take on Democrats as both sides clash over the Iraq and Afghanistan spending bills just passed by the Senate and House which include timelines Bush fiercely opposes for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq.
Iraq War Coalition Casualties
The 4th Year of death in Iraq. I wonder if this is the real truth from some of the titles on this site. I think the numbers are higher myself. When the true numbers of dead US soldiers/Iraqis while Jessica Lynch distraction was going are finally reported will I believe. The numbers reported for the deaths in that time frame, manner and locality do not add up. More lies and spins. Battle of Baghdad (Airport).
L. Paul Bremer...a name to research before he was sent to Iraq. Did they ever find the missing money on his watch?

Go Dennis!
AMY GOODMAN: But what do you say to those make the argument that if president Bush has on his desk a bill that gives money, gives a fortune in continuing the war, and he has to veto it because he doesn't like the timetable, that this puts him in a very difficult position?
REP. DENNIS KUCINICH: Our decisions have to be way above politics. We have the lives of our troops at stake here. There's no military victory in Iraq. We're there illegally. The occupation is fueling the insurgency. Democrats can still, after president Bush vetoes the bill, which he will, Democrats can still take the right position, which is refuse to fund the war, use money in the pipeline to bring the troops home.
The Raw Story | White House Power Point slides target 20 Democrats for 2008 defeat
House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) is seeking information about slides targeting 20 Democratic-controlled Congressional districts for the 2008 Election. In January, the White House sent J. Scott Jennings, an aide to Karl Rove, to present a slide show to a group of employees of the General Services Administration.
Waxman believes the presentation, and subsequent remarks made by GSA Director Lurita Alexis Doan may have violated the 'Hatch Act,' which prohibits federal employees from using their positions for political purposes. Doan is alleged to have suggested that she could use GSA contracts to help Republican Members of Congress hold their seats in the House.
Big fat sigh...for that big fat corrupt asshat Rove.
Suggested google...Results 1 - 10 of about 311,000 for Karl Rove + Texas Youth Commission.

"The U.S. attorney's office in Texas actually prepared indictments in this case," Angle told WND. "But when the word came from Washington, that's when [Asst. U.S. Attorney] Baumann wrote his letter declining prosecution. Sutton's office dropped the matter on the desk of the local district attorney, but nobody from [U.S. Attorney] Sutton's office said 'if you can’t go on this case, we'll help you out.'"

Thanks for your comment on my blog, teak. I got a nice one from Alooney, too, on the wordpress website, Friends of the American Revolution. You'll find a link to this on my blogsite if you haven't already visted it.
With regard to blogging, I've had a lot of help from my friends, people like yourself whom I have never met and who are known to me only by their "username" through the "Patrick Fitzgerald website.
thirdgeneration chicago told me how to create links and S-Q told me how to post video clips from YouTube and Google.
With regards to senior bush activities concerning the US hostages in Teheran in 78 and 79, I'm aware of the allegations made that he negotiated with the Iranians for them not to release the hostages until reagan was elected, and sold weapons to them, the proceeds of which were then used to finance the Contras.
That the hostages were released on the very day that reagan was sworn in is in itself very suspicious.
A parallel situatio occurred earlier in the run up to the 1968 presidential elections. Christopher Hitchens (among others) in his book, The Trial of Henry Kissinger, alleges that Nixon let it be known to the S. Vietmanese ambassador that if elected he would secure peace on more favorable terms to the S. Vietnamese than those which johnson was offering.
So the S. Vietnamese stalled on the S. Vietnamese negotiations, the war con tinued and the Democrats poipularity plummeted. Nixon won and eventually secured peace, but not on the terms he had orginally offered, and at the cost of many more US and Vietnamese lives.
"Kissinger must now surely sue" was the comment of one reviewer of this book. To this day, Kissinger never has.
Nixon's actions (negotiating with the enemy) were treasonable.
As you are probably aware, I'm a keen cook, and about a year ago, I developed an interest in Vietnamese cookery. It's such a pity that for manyb people, the word Vietnam is associated with a war and not with a fascinating culture.
Thanks, Anthony.
I've been to Alooney's blog too. Frankly the bashing on PJF's blog to "hush" certain people's points of view spoke volumes. But then again, thanks to their "bashing", one can research what they seem to want to silence. Sometimes the content of what one says may not be wrong after all.
That's true Teak & Anthony!
Freedom of Speech is so important... even though we may not always agree.. ;)
Btw.. Teak if you want to learn how to post videos on your blog, just ask Anthony or myself..I'm sure Anthony wouldn't mind helping you and I sure wouldn't mind! ;)
p.s.
It's very easy to do! ;)
